We’re excited to share a new release with you. The version number only moved a little, but what’s inside is not small at all, so let’s dive in.
Your prompts now use way fewer credits with smart context cleaning
Here’s something we’ve all run into. When a chat with the AI gets long, older parts of the conversation stay in the context and get sent along with every new message. Two problems come out of that. First, every prompt gets more expensive, because the AI has to read through all of that history again and again. Second, the AI starts losing focus, so the results for your actual task get worse. That’s why we’ve always recommended starting a new chat when the previous conversation doesn’t matter for what you’re doing next.
With smart context cleaning, Nowa now takes care of a big part of this for you. As the session grows, the agent removes the parts of the old context it no longer needs, while keeping everything that matters for the results and the overall picture of your app. The AI still knows what you’re building, but it works with a much cleaner space.
What this means for you: prompts consume far fewer credits, tasks run faster, and the results get better because the AI is focused on what actually matters.
In our testing, sessions that go beyond three or four prompts saw credit usage drop by up to 75%. That’s a big deal, especially if you tend to work in long sessions.
One thing hasn’t changed though. If the previous history isn’t needed for your next task, starting a fresh chat is still the best way to go.
Designer Mode is now the best place to start a new project
We released Designer Mode in the previous version, and we’ve been working hard on it since. With this release, we now recommend starting every new project in Designer Mode.
Why? Because it follows the natural flow of building an app. You start with the design, focus fully on your screens and how people move through them, and leave the logic for later. You don’t have to think about both at the same time.
You also get better designs. The design agent is focused on one thing and does it really well, and it’s now much more capable of creating modern designs that feel unique to your app instead of looking like a template.
Before it starts building, the design agent asks you five important questions. These cover things like the look and feel, the tone, the user experience, and how the app flows from one screen to the next. Your answers shape key decisions about how your app gets built, so it’s worth taking a minute to think them through. To make this easier, the agent now highlights a recommended answer for the questions about user experience and flow, so if you’re not sure, you have a good starting point.
Once the first version of the design is ready, the agent is also smarter about suggesting what to do next, so you always know where to go from there.
Running your app just got more reliable
We’ve also improved the experience of running your app. Some of you have seen the app fail to run for no clear reason. Most of the time, this happened because the simulator was still booting while the AI was in the middle of its work, and the two got in each other’s way.
That’s no longer the case. From now on, your simulator will only show an error or fail to run if your project actually contains errors. And when it does, you can fix them with one click using AI.
Smaller improvements and fixes
We also shipped a handful of fixes and improvements along the way:
- Uploaded images now make it into your app. Before, the AI sometimes wouldn’t use the images you uploaded. Now it adds them to your project’s assets and uses them on its own.
- Recommended answers in Designer Mode. The design agent highlights a recommended answer when it asks about user experience and flow, so picking the right option is easier.
- A smarter AI agent. Nowa’s AI agent got improvements to how it explores your project and edits files. That means better results, lower cost, and faster execution.
- A better support chat. The support chat panel got a round of improvements.
- Higher quality designs. Designer Mode now produces better designs and gives better suggestions for next steps.
